THE NEW TRADITIONAL
Updated: Sep 15, 2019
Old world sophistication creates a traditional kitchen, updated for the modern era.

Goal:
Old world character updated in 21st century function and appearance. (Refurbished Design)

Why We Love It:
The new marble set a fresh vibe to the existing cabinets which were kept as part of the refurbished design. The brown walls and a neutral back splash, toned down the hard, yellow undertones in the existing finishes, proving the right color and finishes can change a space significantly for the better. Together, the colors are so pretty. This the addition of LED lighting and a large chandelier made the space truly sparkle.

What Makes It Work:
Special consideration was given as to what to change and what not to change. New mill work in the old hood design, and removal of certain cabinet sections made the design appear lighter and not as heavy as the original configuration. A light hand on a design challenge is sometimes what you need to make a previously designed space feel current. On the back splash design: a neutral field tile, a very decorative bond tile to reflect the original cabinet details, and due to some clever problem solving during the construction phase, a custom marble centerpiece was exacted over the range.
